Down the Social Media Rabbit Hole

Since starting my new Etsy shop, I have found one of the most time consuming overwhelming aspects is social media. There are so many out there and they all need attention. With all the tagging, tweeting, pinning, liking, commenting and posting who has the time to actually create new listings!  Not to mention Etsy alone has a thriving social network with its teams!

Currently I have:

WordPress: This poorly maintained blog.

I also just found: but have not really use it yet.

No doubt there are many many more. I mean where does a small out of the basement entrepreneur draw the line? At the moment I love Pinterest and Instagram the most. I am not a huge fan of Facebook for business. The only exposure you get is if you pay and it’s not a pay/month deal either it’s a pay/post, and it’s not cheap! I am like many home grown shop owners broke! this is why I chose Etsy it’s great for the no budget start up!

Where should a new no budget business focus and what social media should we leave behind?!

  1. I know how you feel! I’m on like 15 different Etsy teams, run a couple of websites, as WELL as Facebook, Twitter, DeviantArt, ArtPal, Pinterest, Snapchat, and Instagram. I’m doing all this by myself… I get on the Etsy teams, look for every Facebook link, like, message, get likes back. It’s tough to update everything on a regular basis.
I have accounts I don’t use, and I think that’s a sign that I don’t need them. I just sign up for things because, well, JUST IN CASE, you know? My favorites to manage are Facebook and Instagram. Work hard, keep it up, and get someone to help you! 🙂
